Think WIN-WIN and Stay Positive!

Author: Chris Angeles

Well last night yes I know I wasn't able to make my "daily" blog. I would say that I was somewhat in a bad mood emotionally with one of my friends. I wont talk much about the argument, nor will I reveal any names.

But a lot of complications occur, most of them are from misunderstanding. I have my point, they have theirs. I DO fully understand their point, and I DO also put my feet in their shoes and try it out and see how it looks from their end, but the mistake from the other end is that they don't even try my shoes, looking at the problem from MY point of view.

This then results in misunderstanding. emotions again conquer the other party, as the problem is being enforced because of ANGER, but not taken from the point of reality, of how I said I WILL change, and how I ADMIT I made mistakes on my end. anger is still there.

Its forgiven, yet never forgotten... YUP! In both parties, it is like that, and I like it that way! we never forget the mistakes and failures, because being aware of them makes us aware of the consequences we experienced during those mistakes. and yes, always forgive... Especially those who are Christian, don't u guys pray the "Our Father"?

Argument was thru text messaging.. I hate it this way because we don't fully understand the emotions of the other party... They can be crying, super angry and yelling, tensed, etc. this goes also for chatting. I always keep in mind of body language playing a big role in any communication. only 7% of the conversation is thru words, the other 93% is your body language (way of speaking, emotions, etc.)

There is prejudice on how the other party speak with each other, that thru text messaging, we cannot understand the other.

I want it to be a win-win situation for both parties.. I don't want bad relationships with other people.. I don't want to coincidentally see the other party one day at the mall and bad faces at each other come out... Why cant there be peace instead of war? Why not love instead of hatred?

Hurting other people also hurts ourselves... We may not feel it, we may actually feel better as we do revenge to the other party, but looking at it as a whole, it just makes things worse... More of a lose-lose situation.

Think positive... That is a big thing... Smile always, even while walking down the road.. Smile at people that walk by that you don't even know... It helps.. It matters a lot... You and others will feel better of yourself... Have you ever even tried it? Just smiling at other people, and greeting people on the road? Maybe it looks stupid, but just at least try it.

Every person has dignity... Each person must be treated equal...

I remember this one example situation, imagine you're in bad traffic, then traffic is so bad and it doesn't even move at all... Then you're the person that honks at your horn, pull down the window, and looks ahead of the road with a bad face, and looking bad at other people...

Then the person right behind of you is listening to music, on the phone with a friend, having fun, very calm, and not problematic.

These are two people in the SAME shoes... Same situation.. But the only difference is how they see the problem.. One person get angry, one person is happy... But they're both in the same traffic... Which person would you rather be?

Let go of the past with bad relationships... It doesn't matter anymore in present... Because what happened, already happened... Don't make it a big deal, and deal with what's really happening in the present. the more you make it a problem, the worse the relationship will be.. It doesn't help in anyway to bring back the bad past...

Be positive... Be a good person...Think win-win... If the other person doesn't respond in a positive way, STILL continue to stay positive naturally... Don't react negatively... NEVER.. Naturally, by staying positive, the other party will then become positive with consistency and trust.

Remember this quote again, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life". The example I gave earlier in this blog about how we feel during the first day of work and on the 3rd month day of work. we are not as energetic, helpful, responsive, but yet we are just in the same situation with work.
