More High Speed Trains For Transportation Would Be Nice

Author: Lance Winslow

It would be nice to have more high-speed trains to move people and freight faster, unfortunately it is not something I believe I would trust the government to do, as everything they do turns to with regard to transportation seems to be a complete financial disaster. Private enterprise is the only answer to high-speed transportation systems by trains in this nation. Government cannot be trusted to solve these needs. Does a high-speed rail system make sense?

Yes, of course it makes sense but the problem is people do not want to get out of their cars and those trips often operate at a loss. It must be private sector endeavor. You see, we cannot trust government to not screw up every single thing they do. Often on review they appear to be utterly incompetent in every single endeavor without exemption. And before you tell me I am wrong; I challenge you to name "ONE" thing the government does with "OUR" taxpayer's money; that they do very well. I use the example of AMTRAK in this argument. Government ought to be a website, which assists businesses and citizens. We need to downsize this ongoing Pandemic of the blob of bureaucracy.

High-speed rail systems make sense obviously and the weight and freight efficiencies would be great, magnetic levitation, air cushion or whatever new technology, which is used would be a God's send indeed. Let's look at I-95 disaster, NY toll ways? PA Toll Way, NJ turnpike, it only works good in the middle of the night, we need better transportation systems and high-speed rail may just be that ticket.

Most people when asked admit that; "People will use alternative methods of transportation if there's choices, it's easy to get somewhere, the cost isn't astronomical and they're clean and pleasant."

Indeed and these points are well taken. Additionally if people can travel stress free on their way to work we will alleviate the stress and fear then the people will become more engaged and more productive and means better efficiency in every regard, thus improving business productivity and the therefore the efficiencies of the civilization as well. And with high-speed rail, well this is only one aspect, as it would be great to move the freight at higher speeds as well, think of the benefits. Fresher produce on the shelves and better health; faster deliveries and over all total synergies for all, since everything is tied to everything else in a civilization. Think on this in 2006.
